Buhari To Nigerian Youths: My Generation Is On The Last Lap

President Muhammadu Buhari says  it is in the interest of Nigerian youths to keep peace as his generation is already exiting.

Buhari who was reacting to the recent #EndSARS protest and the mayhem that came in its wake,  said, “Our own generation is on the last lap; we are exiting sot  youth should maintain peace and order.”

Presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina said Buhari spoke during the visit of Deputy Secretary- General of United Nations, Amina Mohammed, to Aso Rock on Monday.

Reacting to the recent #EndSARS protests and the attendant mayhem that followed the protest, Buhari told the youths that “our own generation is on the last lap; we are exiting,” urging the youth to maintain peace and order.

“It is in the interest of the youth to keep the peace. They want jobs, infrastructure, and development.

He explained that he had sent his Chief of Staff, Prof Ibrahim Gambari, round the country to talk to talk to traditional rulers who will talk to the youths.

According to him, his administration inherited severe infrastructural deficits and  doing its best with the available limited resources.

“That is what we are fighting to correct. We can’t just sit, fold our hands, and do nothing. We are doing our best within the limits of resources,” he said.
