Prittican Yakubu, one of the promising actresses in Nollywood at the moment, has also had her share of ‘awful’ experiences which she can’t forget in a hurry as long as she’s in the industry.

While sharing her ugly experiences, the actress, also known as Kogi First daughter, said she was not discouraged despite what she faced while trying to find her feet in the movie industry.

She said, “when I started my acting career, I was not consistent because I didn’t want to be harassed sexually. I was not ready to pay any price for a movie role. But one day, I asked myself, how long would I keep running away from these producers? From that day, I made up my mind to return to the industry”.

Interestingly, Prittican who was born and raised in Lagos, relocated to Abuja to chase her dream in acting. But when it was obvious that the Federal capital territory was not the right place to chase such dreams, she later moved to Owerri, from where she was shuttling between Asaba, Awka and Aba.

According to her, the producer’s wife travelled out of Owerri, and he decided to accommodate them for a night, as they got a call from a director for a job in Asaba.

Narrating her ordeal, Prittican said, “the producer woke me up around 3 am to demand sex. I told him I can’t do it even as I was observing my monthly menstruation. He then asked me to wake one of my friends so that he could sleep with her. But I refused to do so.

“At that moment, he got angry and threw us out of his house in the middle of the night. We ended up sleeping in an uncompleted building where bad boys usually hanged out. But luckily, they didn’t see us. That was how we escaped from being raped by the boys.”

Following the horrible experience, the Kogi first daughter said she was not able to hit the top in her career. She nevertheless believes that her talent will open the doors for her, instead of exchanging her body for movie roles.
