One motorcycle rider, Mr Abe, was swept away by floodwaters in Alimoso Local Government Area of Lagos State after refusing to heed warnings from his colleagues not to ride along the Ile Epo Busstop canals.
According to the report, some people have been displaced from their homes and have taken refuge in churches and other temporary shelters.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other emergency agencies have been responding to the flooding and the director general of NEMA, Alhaji Mustapha Habib Ahmed has ordered the immediate release of relief materials to the people who have taken refuge in 4 churches in the areas.
