UNILORIN Wins JAMB’s N500m Merit Award

The University of Ilorin has emerged as the top winner of the National Tertiary Admissions Performance-Merit Awards (NATAP-M Awards) for the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 academic sessions, bagging a cash prize of N500 million.

“We are thrilled to receive this award,” said Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, in his acceptance speech.

“We will not rest on our oars and promise to judiciously use the money won.” The award was instituted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to recognize institutions that have demonstrated excellence in admissions.

The University of Ilorin emerged the best institution with an aggregate of 12 points in the overall category, followed by Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and Borno State University, Maiduguri. “This award is a testament to our dedication to promoting excellence,” said Professor Is-haq Oloyede, Registrar of JAMB.
