Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has ordered the reopening of three secondary schools in Bama town.

The governor gave the directive for the reopening of the three secondary schools in the area at the Shehu of Bama’s Palace in Bama during the supervision of the distribution of food items in the area.

Schools in Bama Local Government Area (LGA) have been closed as a result of Boko Haram insurgency that left hundreds of people dead in the area.

Governor Zulum said the order was given to enable the students in the area to have access to education. He said there could never be a better time to reopen school than now.

However, this move of the governor was considered too fast with the prevalence of COVID-19 in the country and the recent attack launched on the area by the Islamic sect.
