FMC Abeokuta Denies Staff Involvement In Internet Scam

The Management of the Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta has refuted the news making the rounds that one of its staff was involved in internet fraud.

Recall that last week, operatives of Ibadan Zonal command of Economic & Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) named one Olawale Balogun as a staff of the Centre arrested along with others for internet fraud.

However, the hospital Management maintained that the man in question, Olawale Balogun Nurudeen absconded in 2021 about two years after employment and had since deleted his name from the hospital payroll.

The hospital’s Head of Public Relations and Information, Mr. Segun Orisajo discloses this in a press statement on Sunday in Abeokuta.

Orisajo said, Olawale Balogun Nurudeen joined the Centre as a Clerical Officer II on 2nd November 2018 and had his appointment confirmed on 2nd November, 2020.

“The general public is hereby by this publication notified that Olawale Balogun allegedly arrested by the EFCC is not a staff of FMC Abeokuta and that no member of the Centre was involved in any internet fraud or related crimes.

“The staff of the Centre are dutiful and law-abiding who are familiar with the consequences of any infraction to the Public Service Rules “.
