A devastating gas explosion has claimed the lives of Nigerian singer Patoranking’s sister, Chioma Onuabuchi, and her husband, George Onuabuchi, in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. The tragic incident occurred on August 25, according to the Ebonyi Police Command.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Joshua Ukandu confirmed that the explosion was caused by a gas cylinder, debunking initial reports of an inverter battery being the source. A preliminary investigation revealed that the couple succumbed to injuries sustained from the gas explosion.
The victims were rushed to the hospital but unfortunately, Chioma passed away in August, while George succumbed to his injuries in September. The couple leaves behind a three-year-old son.
Patoranking has yet to publicly comment on the tragic loss of his sister and brother-in-law. Fans and friends have taken to social media to offer condolences to the singer and his family during this difficult time.
The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety measures and proper handling of gas cylinders to prevent such tragedies.
