Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev and the Minister of State for the Environment and Ecological Management are currently at Opic House in Isheri Community to access the impact of the flood occasioned by the release of water from the Oyan dam.
The yearly flood has been attributed to the poor management of the dam by the Ogun Osun River Basin Authority, the agency established to manage the dam and ensures that it controls flooding in the floodplanes of the states.
Today’s visit is the second time the governor is visiting the area in less than seven days.
The community has complained to the governor of the non-implementation of the agreement reached with the OORBA management on the release of water from the dam on monthly basis.
