Over Fifteen Thousands of residents in Adadama village, Cross River State, gathered over the weekend to express their gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Dr. Betta Edu as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
This visit marked the Minister’s first since her appointment, during which over 2,200 individuals benefited from the Renewed Hope empowerment and vocational skills acquisition program.
Dr. Betta Edu has gained a reputation as the star girl and revelation of President Tinubu’s administration due to her hard work and dedication in bringing relief to the Nigerian people.
The overwhelming support and praise from the local government and the entire state demonstrate the belief that only a President Tinubu could appoint a young person in their thirties to the Federal Executive Council, let alone someone from their own village.
During the visit, the Minister assured Nigerians that by 2024, they would witness an unprecedented victory over poverty under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.

She pledged to utilize all possible approaches to achieve this goal and emphasized that Cross Riverians would also benefit from the social protection interventions of the administration.
The traditional rulers in the region, Obol Lepon of Ugep and Eval Adadama, expressed their gratitude to President Tinubu for granting this great privilege to their daughter, Dr. Betta Edu.
They conveyed their confidence in her abilities as a hard worker and goal-getter, assuring the President that she would not disappoint him.
They recounted how she built Health Centers for the community and has religiously paid fees for every child in the ward for about a Decade now. She has always had a humanitarian heart and she’s the best fit for the job.

Those who passed through the vocational training for two days on different skills got their starter packs at the event. While some were put into cooperatives and empowered to set up micro-businesses with strict monitoring. These persons were carefully selected through a rigorous process that ensured only the very poor, vulnerable, and sick were considered.
It was indeed an endless celebration by a people who have faith in their daughter’s ability to deliver on the Renewed Hope Mandate in Nigeria, They prayed for Dr. Betta Edu to exploit while praying for wisdom and divine protection upon her as she carries out her duties.
