Third Mainland bridge repairs will be completed by April – FG assures Nigerians

The Federal Government has assured that repair works on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos will be completed, and the bridge will be reopened to traffic by April.

 

The Minister of Works, David Umahi, stated that President Bola Tinubu had approved funds for comprehensive works on both carriageways of the Third Mainland Bridge.

Umahi expressed satisfaction with the ongoing repair work on the bridge’s top deck and assured us that it would be a “classic reinstated bridge” upon completion.

The Third Mainland Bridge, a critical infrastructure connecting Lagos Mainland to the Island, was temporarily shut down for repairs.

 

Contractors are expected to commence work on the underdeck and lagoon sections of the Third Mainland Bridge and Carter Bridge in the coming week. The inspection included assessments of the lagoon sections of the Third Mainland, Carter, and Eko Bridges.
