A one-day symposium has been announced by organizers of University of Warwick to commemorate the 40th anniversary of General Dr. Yakubu Gowon’s doctoral degree in Political Science from the University of Warwick (1984).
The event is aimed to bring together Nigerian students and prominent speakers to discuss and share visions for a reformed Nigeria, focusing on economic growth, happiness, and social progress.
The symposium set to honour General Gowon’s legacy as a young and influential leader in Nigeria’s history.
Also, it also provides a platform for African students to network, promote dialogue, and foster friendship. The event seeks to inspire a new generation of leaders and ignite patriotism among the youth.
Richard Olumakaiye, a young organizer, is driving this initiative, which promises to be a thought-provoking and enriching experience.
The symposium is a fitting tribute to General Gowon’s academic achievement and his contributions to Nigeria’s development.
