A devastating fire outbreak occurred at the palace of Emir Lamido Sanusi in Kano, destroying the throne, air conditioners, and other valuables. The incident happened on Friday night at the Gidan Rumfa palace, where the embattled Emir Sanusi sits every Monday for court sessions.
According to sources, the fire started around 11 pm and is suspected to have been caused by an intruder who broke into the palace and set the fire before locking the door. The Chief of Staff to Emir Sanusi, Dan Buram Kano, confirmed the incident and stated that there were no casualties and the damage was minimal.
The palace is taking necessary measures to ensure the security and safety of the occupants and is investigating the cause of the fire to prevent future incidents.
