The Federal Government has announced plans to sell a 50kg bag of rice to public servants at a subsidized rate of N40,000.
According to a letter from the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs, all interested staff members are required to complete a Google form on the OHCSF website and submit it to the director of human resources for endorsement. The letter stated that payment for and distribution of the rice would be coordinated by designated officials, while the chairman, Joint Union Council of the ministry, would serve as an observer for transparency reasons.
The Federal Government had previously announced the creation of centers across the country where Nigerians could purchase 50kg bags of rice for N40,000.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammed Idris, said this initiative was one of several efforts by the Tinubu administration to ease living conditions for citizens.
