Court Orders Substituted Service on Naira Marley, Sam Larry in Mohbad’s Death Case

The Coroner’s Court in Ikorodu, Lagos State, has ordered substituted service on key witnesses in the ongoing inquest into the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad.

The witnesses include Naira Marley, Sam Larry, Mohbad’s sister-in-law, Karimot Ogunbayo, and others.

The court granted the order following an application by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, to serve the witnesses through a reputable national newspaper and social media platforms. The coroner’s inquest seeks to clarify the circumstances of Mohbad’s death and determine any potential legal or criminal actions.

Additionally, the court granted an application to recall Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, and the IPO in charge of the case, ASP Muhammad Yusuf, to shed light on new issues related to the singer’s death.

Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, with controversies surrounding his death sparking debates on social media.

The Lagos State Police Command had inaugurated a 13-man special investigation team to probe the singer’s death, and his body was exhumed for autopsy to unravel the cause of his death.
