The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the arrest of an alleged internet fraudster in Abuja, accused of holding a young woman captive for money rituals.
The operation was conducted by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
According to SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, the police are currently awaiting the NSCDC to transfer the suspect for further investigation.
“Findings revealed that the NSCDC has taken the suspect into custody and are yet to hand over to the police for diligent investigation,” she stated.
The case drew widespread attention after a video surfaced showing the young woman confined in a hotel room with her legs tied, allegedly by her boyfriend at the Top View Hotel in Wuse, Abuja.
The police have indicated that they will communicate further developments as the investigation progresses.
