Tinubu’s Cousin Is Dead, President Mourns

President Bola Tinubu’s cousin,  Dr. Naheemdeen Ade Ekemode, is dead.

He died at the age of 80.

A statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Monday, said the late Ekemode was a gynaecologist who practised for over 50 years. He was trained in Egypt, also served as the former chairman of the Lagos State Hospitals Management Board.

President Tinubu wrote, “Your passing has left an unfillable void in the hearts of our family. The fond memories we shared, from childhood through the many years we spent together, will forever remain in my heart.

“I will always cherish your bright smile, infectious laughter, and unwavering kindness. As a physician, your compassion and care touched countless lives, and your legacy will endure through the people you healed, comforted, and uplifted.

“I fondly remember your sense of humour and your caring nature, which never failed to bring joy to those around you.

“Though we celebrated your 80th birthday earlier this year with hope for more shared moments, we take solace in the knowledge that you are now at peace, free from pain and suffering.”

Comforting the family, the President said, “In this time of grief, my thoughts and prayers are with your loved ones.

“The cherished memories we hold dear and the love you gave to us will provide strength and comfort during these difficult times.

“You may no longer be with us in body, but your spirit and the bonds we shared will live on in our hearts forever.

“May Allah grant you eternal rest, and His mercy and peace be with you always.”
