Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has expressed his frustration over the rising cost of living in Nigeria, particularly the soaring prices of diesel, which he claims are leaving many citizens struggling.

In a recent interview with Igbere TV, he criticized the lack of action from the public, especially the youth, in response to the ongoing economic challenges.

Amaechi stated, “People should be angry because you cannot see a group of people stealing your money without doing anything. I am really angry with the citizens because they are not doing anything.”

He highlighted the situation in Edo State, questioning how politicians could still campaign amidst such hardship.

The former governor of Rivers State’s comments come in the wake of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) announcing an increase in the ex-depot prices for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), with prices now reaching as high as ₦1,050 per litre in Calabar and ₦1,010 in Lagos.
