AGN Imposes Indefinite Suspension on Halima Abubakar Over Slander Allegations

The Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has announced the indefinite suspension of actress Halima Abubakar following a comprehensive investigation into allegations of her involvement in disseminating slanderous information about fellow actors.

The Guild’s decision comes after a two-year probe by a special investigative panel that uncovered claims linking Abubakar to the spread of damaging rumors, particularly those regarding extramarital affairs involving prominent figures in Nollywood and society.

In an official statement released on Friday, the AGN outlined the findings of the secret investigation, stating, “Following the thorough investigative report by the special Secret Investigation Panel, it was determined that Miss Halima Abubakar was behind all the slandering information of our members, associates, and patrons.”

The statement further noted that the actress would be subjected to a disciplinary hearing to establish the full extent of her punishment.

During her suspension, Abubakar is prohibited from participating in any filming or AGN-related activities. The Guild has tasked its National and State Chapter Taskforces with ensuring compliance, warning that any violations could result in additional disciplinary measures.

 

The AGN’s statement commended the investigative panel for its diligent work, highlighting the importance of maintaining integrity within the entertainment industry. The panel continues to scrutinize other female members implicated in similar controversies.
