A senior lecturer at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Prof. Oguejiofo Ujam, has been abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.
Ujam, who is the Dean, School of General Studies (GS), was reportedly kidnapped Sunday morning along Ugwuogo -Nike -Opi -Nsukka Road.
It was gathered that Ujam is in the Department of Pure and Industrial Chemistry.
His kidnap follows the recent abduction of Emeason Chima, an official of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), along the same route.
Chima was kidnapped on Saturday near Maduka University in Igbo-Etiti, Enugu State. His captors have demanded a ransom of N50 million.
Unconfirmed reports also suggest that passengers in a commercial bus were abducted on the same road last Friday.
Reports indicate that the kidnappers have yet to make any ransom demands regarding Ujam’s release.

The Enugu State Police Command is yet to comment on the abduction.
