Gunmen Kill Soldiers, Policemen, Burn Operational Vehicles In Akwa Ibom

Some Nigerian soldiers and officials of the Nigerian Police Force have reportedly been attacked by some suspected gunmen and many others injured in Akwa Ibom State.

 

The attack which was said to have taken place in the early hours of Tuesday reportedly led to the death of a Chief Superintendent of Police, Benedict Okoh Ajide and some Ither police officers in the Essien Udim Local Government Area of the State.

SaharaReporters reported that a source told its correspondent that the policemen and soldiers were out in the community for peacekeeping efforts. The source further reportedly added that the gunmen burnt their operational vans during the attack.

“Unknown gunmen attacked some police officers and soldiers today. Their Hilux vans were also set ablaze”, the source reportedly said. The media added that the number of the deceased officers are yet-to-be ascertained.
