One of those killed when bandits assaulted the Nigerian Defence Academy was Flight Lieutenant Chinecherem Okoronkwo.
On Tuesday, August 24, bandits raided the Nigerian Defence Academy’s permanent facility in Kaduna State, killing two officers and kidnapping one more, who was subsequently found dead.
According to a family source, Chinecherem Okoronkwo, who was killed by bandits on Tuesday, was expecting his first child with his wife after four years of marriage when tragedy struck.

Flt Lt. Okoronkwo was the Head of Department, Laboratory Services, Nigeria Defence Academy, Kaduna, till his death.
He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Calabar, where he also served as the General Secretary of the school’s fellowship, CASOR.
He subsequently went on to study Medical Laboratory Science at the University of Nigeria.
Dr. Amaefule Emeka-Charles, the National Director of CASOR, lamented Okoronkwo on the fellowship’s Facebook page.
