A suspected armed robber who has been on the Police wanted list has been reported dead after a gun battle with operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad, RRS in Anwai Illah road, Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The deceased suspect simply identified as Japhet died at the hospital where he was receiving medical treatments after he sustained gunshot injuries.
The Police also recovered one locally fabricated Beretta pistol with two [2] 9mm live ammunition and one Qlink motorcycle with reg no. WKP 270 QW, abandoned by the other gang members.
It was learnt that the deceased suspect and members of his gang allegedly attacked the operatives who quickly took cover and engaged the marauders in a serious gun battle thereby forcing them to a retreat.
