The abducted students from the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi (FUAM) in Benue State, have regained their freedom, the police have confirmed.
Spokesperson for the state Police Command, DSP Catherine Anene, who confirmed the release, said the students were freed on Tuesday.
“Kidnapped students of the University of Agriculture have been released unhurt. Investigation into the case continues please,” Anene said in a statement.
Similarly, Rosemary Waku, director of information, protocol and public relations of FUAM, also confirmed the release of the students.
A statement by Waku, revealed that the students were returned to campus on Tuesday.

She identified the released students as Israel Farren Kwaghgee and Solomon Salihu.
She, however, did not say if a ransom was paid before the students were released.
The kidnappers had earlier contacted one of the parents of the students and demanded N20 million ransom but there was no information on whether ransom was paid or not.
