Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman, currently with Atalanta, recently shared his insights regarding the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award in an interview with 54footballx.
He highlighted the significance of potentially winning the award for himself, his family, community, and Nigeria, but emphasized he feels no added pressure.
The 27-year-old has had a standout year, showcasing his skills at both club and international levels. Lookman stated, “I have kept the same mindset. I am just trying to do my best on the pitch.” He believes in daily improvement and maintaining a strong work ethic.
On the Super Eagles’ performance, Lookman noted their solid start in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with three wins and a draw, contrasting with their struggles in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
He stressed the importance of consistency, aiming for both AFCON and World Cup qualification.
