The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has described the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III as a force to be reckoned with and a true and responsible father to the Yoruba nation.
The Oluwo also described the demise of the revered Yoruba monarch as the end of an era.

Speaking through Alli Ibraheem, his Chief Press Secretary on Saturday, the Iwo monarch stated that he had last met with the Alaafin last week and at the meeting they had both scheduled an event for early May in Osun.
According to him, “I visited Baba Alaafin last week when my mind got attracted to him.
