BREAKING: INEC Declares APC Candidate Okpebholo Winner Of Edo Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Monday  Okpebholo as the winner of the governorship election in Edo State.

According to INEC’s Returning officer, Prof Farouq Adamu Kuta, the APC candidate scored  a total of 291,667 as against 247, 655 votes won by the PDP candidate, Asue Ighodalo, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),to emerge winner. Olumide Akpata, of the Labour Party came a distant third with a total of 22,763 votes.

Okpebholo won in 11 local government areas out of the 18 local government areas in the state, while Ighodalo won in the remaining ones.

Akpata of the Labour Party lost in all the local government areas including his own local council area, Oredo.
