President Bola Tinubu has appointed Major General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede as the acting Chief of Army Staff (COAS), following the indisposition of Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, who is currently receiving treatment abroad.
This announcement was made by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga on Wednesday.
Major General Oluyede, who previously served as the 56th Commander of the Infantry Corps of the Nigerian Army, will assume the role temporarily until General Lagbaja’s return.
Oluyede is a seasoned officer, commissioned in 1992, and has participated in various significant military operations, earning numerous accolades for his service.
