I’ve forgiven those who didn’t believe my daughter’s last tweets, late Chinelo’s dad speaks at funeral

The father of the late medical doctor, Chinelo Megafu, who was killed in the Abuja-Kaduna train attack of March 28, 2022,  says he has forgiven people that cast aspersion on his daughter when she called for prayers after the train attack.

Late Chinelo’s remains were committed to mother earth in a private cemetery on Thursday after a funeral service held at the Shepherdhill Baptist Church, Obanikoro, Lagos.

Speaking at the ceremony where he played sax, Engineer Megafu said, ” I have forgiven those who cast aspersions on her not believing her last tweets calling for help after being shot.”

He also called on the Nigerian govrmment to save the country from collapse.

The late Chinelo was multitalented as she could play the sax, and paint.

Her father said they had agreed to do a duet on her wedding day.

Chinelo had taken to Twitter to ask people to pray for her during the attack. Many Nigerians did not believe her and even called her a liar. Hours later, her friends confirmed that she was killed during the attack.

The national president of the Queens College alumni association Ifueko Omoigui Okauru gave a moving tribute at the event.

Chinelo was 27 years old and was about to relocate from Nigeria when she met her untimely death.

She was described as kind and caring. Many of the mourners said they were yet to get over the grief of her death.

In her last tweet on the day of the attack, she wrote: “I’m in the train. I have been shot please pray for me.”
