Professor Amos Agbe Utuama SAN, the former Deputy Governor of Delta State, has passed away at the age of 77.
Utuama, who served from 2007 to 2015 under former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, died early Saturday morning in Lagos after a prolonged illness.
Born on June 5, 1947, Utuama was a prominent legal figure and served as Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Delta State under former Governor James Ibori.
His contributions to the legal profession and governance were significant, and he was highly regarded as a law lecturer at the University of Lagos prior to entering politics.
Although the family has yet to make an official announcement, political associates have confirmed his passing.
Utuama hailed from Otughievwen in the Ughievwen Kingdom of Ughelli South local government area of Delta State.
His health had reportedly declined following the death of his wife, Dr. Nelly Utuama. Tributes are expected to pour in as the community mourns the loss of a dedicated public servant and legal scholar.
Further details will be provided as they become available.
