Adeyinka Adeleke, a councilorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress, was killed by gunmen in the Jide Jones area of Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The victim was shot at close range and had his head smashed with stones, ensuring his death.
The assailants arrived in a tinted car and created palpable tension in the area, causing residents to scamper for safety.
The incident occurred around 2 pm and took everyone by surprise, with no one knowing if it was a cultist attack or not.
