The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has assured of an upward review and upgrading of technologies employed in the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).

The Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, gave this assurance in a webinar briefing with officers involved in the conduct of the ongoing examination nationwide.

Oloyede said that the Biometric Verification Machine is being upgraded to forestall any form of malfunction in the remaining days of the examination, adding that two BVM could be concurrently used to sign-in and sign-out to fast track the process.

According to the Registrar, candidates whose fingerprints could not be captured by the BVM should not panic even if they were unable to write the examination on their scheduled dates as adequate provisions had been put in place to ensure fair treatment for all.

Meanwhile, the 2020 UTME examination started across the nation on Saturday, March 14, 2020. The two sessions on Saturday witnessed smooth conduct of the examination as revealed by fillers brought from the various centres. Just little delays were recorded as a result of technical hitches.

Oloyede, while expressing the commitment of the Board to ensure smooth conduct of the examination, urged all stakeholders to make the aspiration a reality.
