Police rescue man from kidnappers’ den in Osun

Osun Police Command has confirmed the release of Yinka Okunade, a commuter who was abducted on Saturday by gunmen along Ife/Ilesa expressway in Osun State.

Recalled that gunmen ambushed a commercial bus travelling along the expressway on Saturday, April 24, 2021 around 7:40pm and abducted a passenger.

Following the abduction, local hunters and others security operatives combed the sorrounding bush in search of the victim.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Yemisi Opalola confirmed that the victim was recovered unhurt on Mondaay evening. Yinka Okunade has now been reunited with his family.

Opalola said, “Due to intensive pressure on the kidnappers reported to have kidnapped one Mr. Okunade Yinka along Osu / Ife expressway on Saturday around 6:00 pm, I’m happy to inform you that the victim has been released since last night unhurt around 10:00 pm.

“He was reunited with his family this morning”.
