Former Ekiti State governor, Ayo Fayose has dissociated himself from the comments on mass travelling abroad of politicians and other Nigerian leaders due to the planned protests scheduled to start in August.
Reacting to a statement credited to him, he said he was forced to publicly comment on the situation because he had been inundated with requests seeking clarification from both well-meaning Nigerians and the media.
The former governor explained that he was not the author of the statement even as he urged Nigerians to always read beyond story headlines.
Isaac Fyose had stated that members of House of Representatives, senators, governors and minister were all travelling abroad suddenly because of protest.
However, the former governor acknowledged the writer as his brother who is entitled to his personal opinion.
“ My brother is an adult, entitled to his opinion, I don’t have control over what he says. He also stated his name. I am not the only one bearing Fayose. It has become necessary for me to set records straight to avoid being misrepresented,’’ the ex-governor further stated.
