A toddler reportedly picked up a loaded gun and shot her mother to death while the mum was on a Zoom call.
On Wednesday, August 11, Shamaya Lynn, 21, of Florida, was participating in a conference call when the other participants heard a big blast and the mother fell backwards.
According to Altamonte Springs Police, those on the Zoom call then noticed a youngster in the background who had picked up a gun that had been left “unsecured” in the home.
When Lynn was unable to reconnect with the call, one of her coworkers dialed 911, and the mother’s body was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head.
“Investigators established that the injury was caused by a toddler who discovered a loaded handgun left unsecured by an adult in the unit,” according to a police statement.

Lynn was the child’s mother, according to Florida TV station WESH, and the pistol belonged to the father.
“To anybody and everyone tuning into this story, if you own a firearm, please keep it locked and guarded,” Officer Roberto Ruiz, Jr said in a TV broadcast. “Such incidents can be avoided.”
WESH said that the couple has another child, who is being cared after by relatives.
The matter is still under investigation, and police are talking with the Seminole County State Attorney’s Office to see if the gun owner’s father should face charges.
