Top-up programme not for every HND holder – NBTE clarifies

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has clarified that the top- up programme is not intended for all HND holders, but specifically for those who aspire to pursue an academic career.

According to Hajiya Fatima Abubakar, the Head of Media Unit at NBTE, the clarification was made by the board’s Chief Executive, Prof. Idris Bugaje.

Abubakar emphasized that the programme is designed for individuals who have a strong desire to further their career in an academic environment, such as teaching and research in polytechnics or universities.

The new online top-up programme offers HND holders the opportunity to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree within a year, in collaboration with foreign accredited universities.
