A yet-to-be-identified man was fatally struck by a moving train early Monday morning at the Ikeja train station in Lagos State.
The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the incident in a statement.
According to LASEMA, the victim was hit while on the railway tracks leading toward Iyana-Ipaja. Emergency responders were dispatched promptly after receiving distress calls around 8:28 AM.
The Eagle Response Team arrived at the scene by 9:02 AM, where they discovered the man’s body on the tracks.
The agency’s statement noted, “Further investigations revealed that the adult male was reportedly hit by a moving train in the early hours of the day. Unfortunately, an unidentified adult male lost his life to the incident.”

Following the recovery of the body, it was transferred to the morgue for further processing by the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU).
LASEMA has urged the public to exercise caution around railway tracks to prevent such tragic occurrences in the future.
