Due to bad governance, democracy is Under serious threats in Africa ..
I think , Other world leaders should organise tutorials for African leaders on how to govern and deliver the dividends of democracy.
It is appalling and of serious concern when elected leaders are mainly concerned with how to loot the treasury , lead the people into abject poverties , rig elections and elongate their tenures .
Respectfully speaking, in theory , some will postulate that the worst form of democracy is better than any military rule . I beg to differ . That won’t apply and can’t
apply when the existence of the citizens are in jeopardy and all sorts of socio, economic and financial afflictions are their guests …
The general cliche is when there is life there is hope ..what now happens when life itself is under a serious threat due to bad governance?
Our leaders must realise that leadership is not about oneself ..It is about the collective interests of the people .. it is unworthy and uncharitable if leadership is about self fulfilment and personal aggrandisement.
We all appreciate the common definition of democracy but in Africa , I make bold to say that democracy is the madness of many for the benefits of few …This is self explanatory…Only few people , very few can talk about the dividends of democracy .
Ecowas , AU should as a matter of urgency look inward and take a detour on bad governance of leaders who are their members …
Mali , Niger , Gabon and some other African countries are under military rules now. I am afraid, this might spread and have ripple effects .
If an elderly man decides to attach corn 🌽 to his agbada , there is no way fowls won’t run after him .
I rest my case .
