Wigwe University, established in memory of the late Dr. Herbert Wigwe, former Managing Director of Access Holdings, has officially commenced academic activities in Isiokpo, Ikwerre local government area of Rivers State.
This marks a significant milestone just eight months after Wigwe, alongside his wife and son, tragically lost their lives in a plane crash in the United States in February 2024.
According to the university’s spokesperson, “We are dedicated to upholding Dr. Wigwe’s legacy by creating a vibrant learning environment that fosters innovation and leadership.”
Details about the programs and facilities are set to be unveiled in the coming weeks, as the institution prepares to welcome its first cohort of students.
