The campaign of Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, seems to be picking up steam as posters and signboards announcing the Governor’s supposed 2023 presidential bid have surfaced in Port Harcourt, Yenagoa, and Warri.
One signboard read,
“To have a youth as President in 2023, Let the Youth Act Now !!! Register in APC, Belong to the Progressives Family”.
Although the young governor, 45, is still yet to officially declare his interest in becoming Muhammadu Buhari’s successor, various pressure groups have already begun to advocate his candidacy.
Yahaya Bello’s early ‘campaign’ has also seen support from diaspora groups and lawmakers who are seeking a young successor to the current administration.

However, it has also been suggested that this early campaign is being used as a rouse by the APC to galvanize their ongoing party registration and add unwitting members of the younger generation to their camp.
