The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, has promised that a PDP led-government will promote unity amongst Nigerians.

Ayu stated this in Owerri while addressing party faithful during the civic reception held to honour the National Secretary of the party, Senator Nnaemeka Samuel Anyanwu (Samdaddy) at Kanu Nwankwo Center Owerri Imo state

He expressed confidence that PDP will win the forthcoming 2023 general elections, saying that the All Progressive Congress administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari chose to view the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, as an enemy, instead of treating the root cause of their agitation.

The party chairman noted that political imbalance, marginalization of the South-East people, was the root cause of the agitations for secession by IPOB and the ESN.

Ayu affirmed that PDP when it finally assumed power in 2023, would handle southeast issues the way late President Umaru Yar’Adua settled the Niger Delta agitation.

The PDP Chairman, in his address, boasted that the PDP would take over Imo State come 2023, adding the government in place today at the centre is not the government that listens.

He said, “We shall address the issue of Biafra agitation like Yar’Adua addressed Niger Delta issue when we eventually retake Aso Rock in 2023.

“We will not use DSS to kill your people as the APC-led administration did. PDP will win the 2023 election.”

Ayu, who assured that the PDP was ready to correct the abnormality, said what the South-East zone is passing through in Nigeria is not healthy and encouraging.

He charged all stakeholders to join the Peoples Democratic Party to change the narrative and proffer urgent solutions to the menace ravaging the country.
