Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, has assured that the federal government is current on its debt payments, having paid $700 million in debt services for 420 national development agencies.
He disclosed this during a Senate Committee on Appropriation meeting, alongside the Accountant General of the Federation, Oluwatoyin Madein.
Edun stated, “We have paid $700 million in debt services for 420 national development agencies and others.” He also updated the committee on the forensic investigation into the N30 trillion ways and means, inherited N22.7 trillion, and efforts to enhance revenue generation.
However, the launch of electric and CNG vehicles has been delayed due to high freight costs, Edun added.
