The Federal Government has announced the closure of Eko Bridge and its ramps for eight weeks, starting from September 20 to November 20, to facilitate essential asphalt resurfacing.

The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, stated, “This critical project aims to improve road safety and enhance the driving experience of motorists.”

Kesha detailed that the work involves “milling of the existing asphalt and relaying new asphalt on the bridge and ramps,” addressing wear and tear to ensure a smoother roadway.

During the closure, some sections will be fully closed while others will remain partially accessible.

Providing navigation guidance, she advised, “Motorists going to the Island from Funsho Williams Avenue should use the service lane at Alaka to connect Costain and access Eko Bridge.”

Kesha urged residents to plan their travel accordingly and assured the public that adequate signage and traffic control measures will be in place, adding, “We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation as we work to improve the country’s infrastructure.”
