Abducted Bauchi community village head, son released

The abducted village head of Zira village in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Yahya Saleh Abubakar and his son, Habibu, were, on Tuesday, released by their kidnappers.

The village head and his son were abducted from the village at about 2am last Saturday when kidnappers invaded Zira village.

DAILY POST could not confirm if any ransom was paid to the abductors for the father and son’s release by their family.

Confirming their release to journalists in Bauchi on Tuesday, the Bauchi State Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, said both father and son were in good health condition.

According to Wakil, a Superintendent of Police (SP), “Today, the village head of Zira and his son regained freedom (from captivity). Both of them are in good health condition.”

He, however, did not give further details on the release of the victims.
