Again, bandits attack Kaduna community, abduct several people

Bandits have reportedly attacked and abducted an unspecified number of people in Anguwan Gimbiya, a suburb of the Kaduna metropolis.

According to reports, the incident has outraged residents which led them to protest and to block the road along the Sabon Tasha area of the metropolis.

Five houses were said to have been attacked by the bandits.

A resident of the community said the bandits stormed the community at about 11 pm on Wednesday, wielding sophisticated weapons and shooting sporadically.

He said, “There was nothing anybody could do because they were carrying very sophisticated weapons and they were many.

“We don’t know the number of people that were kidnapped yet, but several people were taken away from their homes.”

Kaduna Police Command spokesperson, Mohammed Jalige, could not immediately confirm the incident when contacted.

This is the second reported abduction by bandits. On Monday, the gunmen invaded Bethel Baptist High School, Damishi, Kaduna, and abducted students who are still in captivity.
