After signing Cristiano Ronaldo, Al-Nassr reportedly had their eyes on Sergio Busquets and had a sizable bid ready for the Barcelona midfielder.

According to ESPN, Al-Nassr have shifted their attention to signing the Spanish midfielder after successfully attracting Ronaldo to Saudi Arabia in a contract for an estimated $75 million per year.

Busquets, 34, has apparently been in talks with MLS team Inter Miami for the past few months, but no deal has been reached despite the player’s admission that he would like to play in the United States.

Al-Nassr are prepared to pounce and will put together a €13 million annual deal for Busquets to sign with them this summer.

According to reports, Busquets thought about quitting Barcelona this month but was persuaded by Xavi to stick around for the remaining six months of his contract.

The Catalan club may even extend him a new contract because they are unable to sign a replacement due to their current financial situation.

“He has a contract until June and will stay until the end of that and then we will see,” Xavi told reporters earlier this month. “[It will then depend] how he ends the season, but I think it’s more of a personal decision for him, based on his feelings and how he feels on the pitch. For me, he is still important. We will try to convince him [to stay] if things go well, but it will depend on his personal decision.”
