Thugs armed with cutlasses have attacked #ENDSARS protesters in Abuja.
The thugs who had invaded the protest venue at Berger junction in Nigeria’s capital city, also harassed passers-by, destroying vehicles parked in the area.
At least five cars were destroyed, while a number of protesters sustained injuries.
The protest is part of a nationwide #EndSARS movement which started as an opposition against the now-dissolved special anti-robbery squad (SARS) of the Nigeria police force, notorious for abuse of human rights.
The #ENDSARS protesters are seeking reforms that will bring about positive change and a new orientation among officers of the Nigeria Police.
The reforms are part of the five-point demands of the #EndSARS protesters, who are currently campaigning to end all forms of brutality and extra judicial killings being committed by some operatives of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
