Atiku receives Sambo, Sule Lamido, Hayatu-deen, others

The presidential flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, on Tuesday, met with former Vice President Namadi Sambo, a former governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa; a former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, and a 2023 presidential aspirant of the PDP, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.
Atiku made this known in a tweet posted via his official Twitter handle @atiku.
According to Atiku, the visit was to strengthen the bond of unity in the PDP.
“It was my honour and pleasure playing host to H.E Namadi Sambo, H.E Sule Lamido, H.E Attahiru Bafarawa, and Alh Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.
“The congratulatory visit afforded us to discuss how to strengthen the bond of our unity in our deep party, the PDP among others,” the former vice president wrote.
Atiku had won the presidential primary of the PDP by clinching a total of 371 votes defeating the incumbent governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, who scored a total of 237 votes.
Other contestants such as a former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, polled 70 votes; the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Emmanuel Udom, 38 votes; the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, 20 votes; a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, 14 votes, and an ex-President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, Sam Ohuabunwa, one vote.
Atiku had also embarked on reconciliatory visits since he was declared winner.
