Bandits kidnap two APC chieftains in Kaduna

Bandits have reportedly abducted two chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  along the Kaduna-Kachia road in Kaduna State.

The attack was said to have occurred on Thursday night at Tashar Icce, near Kujama, headquarters of Kajuru LGA of the state.

It was gathered that the abducted persons are Madaki, a house of assembly candidate for Kajuru, and Reuben Waziri, the party’s vice-chairman in Kajuru LGA.

The party chieftains were returning from a meeting with governorship candidates and the southern Kaduna Christian leaders forum when the incident took place.

Ben Maigari, a relative of Waziri, confirmed the incident to TheCable,  saying the bandits were yet to make contact.

He said the bandits blocked the road and opened fire on the entourage, adding that two persons travelling with the party members are feared to have died while those injured are receiving treatment at a hospital in Kaduna.

The security situation in Kaduna has suffered setbacks in the past months. However, there have been continuous operations by security operatives in the state and other parts of the country to improve security.
