BBHSOBA debunk news on alleged gunshot, loss of lives of students

The Baptist Boys High School Abeokuta Old Boys’ Association (BBHSOBA) have debunked news of gunshot battle with the students of Ilugun High School which was
alleged to have resulted in the loss of lives of two students.

According to a statement on Wednesday signed by National Secretary of the association, Prof. A. Dedeke, “The BBHSOBA from its separate investigations also confirmed that the alleged
gunshot battle and loss of lives did not happen.

“The BBHSOBA in conjunction with the School Management hereby wishes to
assure the general public of maintaining conducive learning environment for the
students and further ensure that erring students involved in any fracas will be
appropriately dealt with.

“The BBHSOBA also demand that media houses and outlets diligently investigate
matters before publication of sensational, spurious and damaging reports.”

Meanwhile, the association gathered that investigations carried out by police, the Ministry of Education Science and
Technology, revealed that report as broadcasted from several media houses
and outlets were false as there were no gunshots and nobody was found in
possession of any firearm and also that no life was lost.
