The Chief Imam of the National Assembly Legislative Quarters Jumaat Mosque, Abuja, Mohammad Khalif, has said that the deadly Boko Haram sect is a global conspiracy formed to destroy Nigeria.
The Islamic scholar inveighed against the fact that huge sums have been spent to tackle the Boko Haram insurgency, which has turned into unending war.
According to Khalif, that some unpatriotic political leaders in the country were collaborating with the foreign enemies to worsen the killings and destruction of properties.
Khalif stated this on Thursday to newsmen at the unveiling of the Hausa version of a book, ‘The Infinite Light Muhammad (SAW): The Pride of Humanity,’ written by the founder of the Hizmet movement, Sheikh Fethullah Gullen.

Khalif, popularly known as the Digital Imam, said the Boko Haram insurgency would have become a thing of the past if there were no collaborators among the Nigerian political elite.
According to the cleric, the terrorist group’s doings are inhumane and are merely hidden in the guise of a holy war.

The cleric said, “What Boko Haram insurgents are doing is inhuman. It is not even about religion at all. How can they justify the killings of human beings? How do they want the people they are killing to understand their ideology and accept it?”
